EVP’s “Digital Convergence” presentation covers emerging media: social, mobile and cross-device marketing

San Diego, CA (September 26, 2011) — Based on overwhelming positive audience response at last year’s Direct Marketing Association conference, Digitaria EVP Warren Raisch has been selected by attendees to return to the DMA 2011 stage in Boston next week.

Raisch will host a data-driven conversation on digital convergence in the Cross-channel Strategy track on Monday, October 3, at the Boston Convention Center. He will explain how emerging technology has provided marketers with the tools to have unique, one-to-one conversations and engagement with consumers.

Last year Raisch’s “Digital Convergence: Are you Ready?” presentation attracted a standing-room-only crowd, as he explained how major advances in technology have changed consumer behavior and marketing. With social integration now ubiquitous, and mobile devices like smartphones and tablets serving as the new content aggregation and activation points for consumers, Raisch will explain how a company can thrive in this environment: By starting and maintaining ongoing, multi-channel and multi-device conversations with their customers.

Raisch will discuss major shifts in consumer behavior, including the shift from conspicuous consumption to considered purchases, as consumers increasingly demand a voice and communication throughout the purchase process. Consumers — more globally and socially aware than ever before — are increasingly conscious of what they put on and in their body, as personal health and wellness become an expression of their individuality and drives them to choose purpose-driven brands that reflect their beliefs and passions. Consumers are rejecting traditional marketing methods and demanding a thoughtful blend of traditional, online, mobile, social and location-based communication that moves beyond broadcast marketing and into engagement and conversations.

“Since last year, mobile’s rapid growth through smartphones and tablets, as well as the growing popularity of augmented reality and QR codes, is putting pressure on marketers to master the art of cross-device marketing,” Raisch said. “The rapid pace of consumer behavior shifts driven by technology should help make this year’s presentation as essential as last year’s.”

Raisch’s expertise in technology and marketing comes from 25 years in Silicon Valley, serving as a senior executive for companies such as Apple, 3Com, Gateway, Interwoven, Omniture and Digitas.
